I am counted with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no strength,
I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no help,
I am counted among those who go down to the pit (grave); I am like a man who has no strength [a mere shadow],
I am counted among those who go down into the pit (the grave); I am like a man who has no help or strength [a mere shadow],
I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:
I am counted among those going down to the Pit. I am like a man without strength,
I am considered as one of those plummeting into the pit. I am like those who are beyond help,
For I am oversupplied with troubles, which have brought me to the brink of Sh’ol.
I am as good as dead and completely helpless.
I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no strength:
I have made a covenant with my elect: I have sworn to David my servant:
People already treat me like a dead man, like someone too weak to live.
People see me as if I am already in my grave. I feel completely helpless.
I am treated like those who go down to the pit. I am like someone without strength.
I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am a man who has no strength,
I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am a man who has no strength,
They think I am ·on the way to my grave [L like someone who goes down into the Pit]. I am like a man with no strength.
I am counted among them that go down unto the pit, and am as a man without strength,
I am numbered with those who go into the pit. I am like a man without any strength—
I am like all others who are about to die; all my strength is gone.
I am counted among those going down to the Pit. I am like a man without strength,
They think I am on the way to my grave. I am like a man with no strength.
I am considered as one of those descending into the Pit, like a mighty man without strength,
I am counted with those that go down into the pit; I am as a man that has no strength:
I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:

I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am like a man without strength,
I am reckoned with those descending to the pit. I am like a man without strength,
They say my life is ebbing out—a hopeless case.
God, you’re my last chance of the day. I spend the night on my knees before you. Put me on your salvation agenda; take notes on the trouble I’m in. I’ve had my fill of trouble; I’m camped on the edge of hell. I’m written off as a lost cause, one more statistic, a hopeless case. Abandoned as already dead, one more body in a stack of corpses, And not so much as a gravestone— I’m a black hole in oblivion. You’ve dropped me into a bottomless pit, sunk me in a pitch-black abyss. I’m battered senseless by your rage, relentlessly pounded by your waves of anger. You turned my friends against me, made me horrible to them. I’m caught in a maze and can’t find my way out, blinded by tears of pain and frustration. I call to you, God; all day I call. I wring my hands, I plead for help. Are the dead a live audience for your miracles? Do ghosts ever join the choirs that praise you? Does your love make any difference in a graveyard? Is your faithful presence noticed in the corridors of hell? Are your marvelous wonders ever seen in the dark, your righteous ways noticed in the Land of No Memory?

I am numbered with those who go into the pit. I am like a man without any strength—
For my soul is filled with troubles; my life draws near to Sheol.
I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man without strength,
I am reckoned among those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man without strength,
For my soul is filled with misery, and my life draws near to the netherworld.
They think I am on the way to my grave. I am like a man with no strength.
They treat me like those who descend into the grave. I am like a helpless man,
People think my life is over. I’m like someone who doesn’t have any strength.
I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am like one without strength.
I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am like one without strength.
I am counted with those who go down to the pit; I am like a man who has no strength,
I am added among those who go down into the deep hole. I am like a man without strength.
I am as good as dead, like a strong man with no strength left.
I am counted among those who go down to the Pit; I am like those who have no help,
I am counted among those who go down to the Pit; I am like those who have no help,

I’m like the poor and helpless who die alone, left for dead, as good as the unknowable sea of souls lying under our feet,
I am counted among those who go down into the pit. I am like a man who has no help,
I am guessed with them that go down into the pit; I am made as a man without help,
I have been reckoned with those going down [to] the pit, I have been as a man without strength.
